Works of Love & Darkness - CD

Price: $8.00
Item Number: 227

This CD is a continuation of Gil Bailie's series of presentations in December 2009 at the Montserrat Jesuit Retreat House in Dallas, Texas. Gil explores in his unique way familiar themes of imitation and mimesis from the biblical perspective of humanity's creation in the "image and likeness of God".  In his or her individual identity each person reflects this relationality from the triune God. This is followed by a consideration of human freedom: God’s great gamble. Will humanity choose to love and be loved or sin and suffering? In Christ God takes up this freedom and all its consequences as the lamb slain since the foundation of the world…

“in Abel he was slain, in Isaac bound, in Jacob exiled, in Joseph sold, in Moses exposed to die, sacrificed in the Passover lamb, persecuted in David, dishonored in the prophets…”  Melito of Sardis (2nd Century AD)

Gil Bailie continues his accounting for Christianity in a bold conversation between theology and anthropology.
